Hotel separate medical section

The best of the hotels in the world have a doctor-on-call. This doctor is also available for employees, guests and visitors. Hotels generally maintain a stock of non-prescription drugs and medicines with the Housekeeping Section. In consultation with the doctor, this stock is updated and provided to guests and employees on sudden requirement. Big hotels might also maintain medical assistant staff for the doctor. The doctor, though not expected to be a specialist, should be aware of international standard use of medicines. Today, a doctor-on-call in any hotel is as essential as hotel security and service when it comes to presenting a brand before guests.

Step-by-step implementation

  1. An ambulance/vehicle should always be ready to ferry a guest to a proper hospital in case of an emergency.
  2. Some of the housekeeping staff should be trained in first aid and emergency medical procedures like CPR, bandaging, etc.
