City touring/commuting performance in hotel

A desk to take care of all requirements for commuting within the city, weekend getaways with partner hotels including guide services.

Usually, guests don’t want to spend all their time in a hotel room even if they are on a business trip. Even if guests come with pre-arranged travel plans, a separate desk to help the guest for in-city commuting is a great service a hotel could offer. Not only should the desk staff be able to quickly arrange for vehicles but also information about the city. Most guests would be very willing to take on a guide provided by the hotel if they wish to explore the city on their own. A value-addition is the availability of books on local cultures, historic buildings, maps, etc. Special travel packages for weekend getaways with partner hotels is a big bonus for guests.

Step-by-step implementation

  1. Local guides to be contracted by the hotel. They should know all about the local culture, places of interest, etc. They should know the local language and preferably English. Knowledge of any other foreign language is an added qualification.
  2. Maintain a good stock of local maps, tickets to local shows, details of cinema halls, pubs, night clubs, sports events, etc.
